What is the opportunity?
Join RBC’s newly established Funds Transfer Pricing Center of Excellence within the Enterprise Performance Management team where you will provide value-added strategic financial advice to senior leadership in a fast paced, high-profile group.
The Senior Manager, Funds Transfer Pricing is responsible for developing and enhancing FTP reporting including interest rate risk, liquidity risk, profitability and margin reporting. The role has a direct impact on the management reporting of product and business profitability across the enterprise with significant impact on our businesses in the United States (Capital Markets, City National Bank, Wealth Management, Retail Banking).
A good of understanding of financial/mathematical concepts, bank’s products and balance sheet, and strong technical and analytical skills are preferred.
The FTP COE and Enterprise Performance Management team works with a broad group of Finance and Business Partners to ensure successful implementation of FTP, enabling reporting of consistent and reliable financial results that influence decision making. We make actionable strategic recommendations to the business and CFO that supports long-term bank performance.
You will work closely with the Senior Director, FTP Transformation and leaders across all platforms to enhance FTP and Performance Management capabilities and drive continuous improvement in these areas. You will have the opportunity to develop relationships with colleagues across a diverse set of stakeholders including RBC’s Business Segments, Corporate Treasury Financial Resource Optimization, and Group Risk Management.
What will you do?
- Drive change across our U.S. Region by assisting with the development of standardized FTP reporting at City National Bank, RBC Capital Markets, RBC Wealth Management, and RBC Bank USA by leading projects and initiatives
- Lead the build out of product profitability reports across multiple products and businesses that identify and communicate trends in drivers of business performance
- Strengthen your already strong understanding of interest rate risk, liquidity, and asset liability management at one of the largest and most complex global financial institutions
- Document existing system processes and data flows related to FTP and maintain documentation as recommended changes and enhancements are made
- Identify opportunities to enhance existing FTP methodologies, process, and systems
- Analyze and develop solutions for FTP mechanisms across the enterprise for new and existing business processes, working closely with business segment platforms and Corporate Treasury
- Perform testing and validation for system rule changes and enhancements to ensure accuracy and performance impact
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
- Undergraduate degree (preferably in business/accounting/finance/math/technology) and 4+ years of relevant experience
- Solid multi-tasking capabilities, with the ability to work under pressure with conflicting priorities
- Keen attention-to-detail, with the ability to question and challenge information for integrity
- Solid understanding of mathematical/financial principles, risk concepts and excellent analytical capabilities
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to successfully deliver insightful ad hoc requests on a short notice
Nice to have
- Professional Designations: CPA, CA, CMA, or CFA
- Experience with Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) / Cognos TM1
- Proven record in successfully influencing and implementing change
- Strong understanding of business drivers of performance and related outcome measures
- Previous experience in a fast-paced work environment supporting Senior leaders
- Superior financial modelling skills
