What's the opportunity?
This is an exciting opportunity to be a key member of the CAE/Internal Audit, Capital Markets Financial risk team. As a Senior Manager, you will report to Director/Senior Director and provide an independent and objective assessment of the effectiveness of RBC’s risk management practices with primary focus on Market risk and Counterparty Credit risk across RBC entities globally. You will have opportunities to lead projects, with exposure to RBC senior leadership.
The RBC Chief Audit Executive (CAE) Group leverages a unique perspective with a coordinated view to deliver valuable advice that not only gives assurance, but also illuminates a bigger picture, connects dots, builds best practices and broadens possibilities. We connect intelligence to protect and enable RBC.
What will you do?
- Plan and execute audits related to Market risk and Counterparty Credit risk, covering range of capital market products and front to back controls, with areas including risk governance, risk appetite, limit structure, risk measurement, reporting, aggregation, regulatory capital, and stress testing.
- Assist with the validation of regulatory matters related to Financial risk issued by regulatory bodies.
- Contribute to audit planning and ensure adequate coverage of key business processes to support an independent and objective assessment/opinion on the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management practices.
- Develop audit programs and execute/manage audit plan execution to ensure design and operating effectiveness.
- Continually develop and maintain working relationship with business stakeholders to become a trusted advisor.
- Leverage existing and work on building new data analytics for enhanced coverage and operational efficiencies.
- Keep abreast of regulatory changes and business environments trends.
Must-Have:
- 7+ years of experience in Internal Audit, Risk Management or support functions for any of these fields: Market Risk, Counterparty Credit Risk, Capital Markets, Product Control/Valuation Control, or Corporate Treasury.
- Knowledge or experience of traded and OTC products including derivatives and their associated risks, and risk measurement & management practices.
- Self-driven, team-player with strong collaborative, communication skills and relationship management skills. Has strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Finance or Quantitative degree and/or CPA/CFA/FRM certification.
Nice to have:
- Experience or working knowledge of Internal Audit best practices.
- Understanding of regulatory expectations impacting regulatory capital requirements.
- Proficient with using Excel/VBA/Python.
