What’s the opportunity?

We’re looking for a critical problem solver who’s eager to lead the creation and growth of a portfolio of products for our Wealth Management group. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping the strategy, and delivery of AI and data solutions for Wealth Management. You will work at the intersection of AI and financial services, leveraging innovative technologies to create user-centric products. You’ll work with both business partners and technical teams to discover and align on the optimal solution to business problems, and ensure our technical teams are laser-focused on value.

At RBC Borealis, you’ll be joining a fast paced, dedicated, and passionate team that works directly with leading machine learning researchers, engineers and advisory teams to deliver value back to RBC clients. Our mission is to think big and go beyond what’s possible today to deliver competitive AI solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Product Development:

    • Conduct user research and testing to understand user needs and pain points, using insights to inform product development;

    • Work closely with AI researchers, data scientists, and engineers to translate complex technical concepts into user-friendly products;

    • Over time grow and optimize the product portfolio to maximize outcome.

  • People Management:

    • Manage other product managers and grow their career;

    • As our product offerings continue to grow, lead the hiring of product managers to strengthen your team and drive long-term growth.

  • Strategic Leadership:

    • Influence and execute a comprehensive product strategy aligned with Borealis and RBC's broader objectives;

    • Define the product roadmap, focusing on innovative solutions that leverage AI technologies to solve real-world problems;

    • Set ambitious objectives and key results (OKRs) to measure product success and drive continuous improvement.

  • Stakeholder Management:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across Borealis and RBC, fostering collaboration and alignment towards a shared vision;

    • Communicate product vision, strategy, and progress effectively to senior leadership and other stakeholders, ensuring transparency and buy-in.

  • Innovation and Entrepreneurship:

    • Foster a culture of innovation within the product team, encouraging creative thinking and the exploration of new ideas;

    • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities to integrate AI advancements into your strategy;

    • Champion a test-and-learn approach, promoting experimentation and the use of data to drive decision-making.

You’re our ideal candidate if you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master's or MBA is a plus;

  • 8+ years of experience in a top-tier technology company, with a focus on AI or machine learning products;

  • Proven experience as a Senior or above Product Manager, with a track record of successfully shipping products in an enterprise environment that drive business impact and customer satisfaction;

  • Proven experience empowering direct reports, fostering their growth and well being;

  • Strong background in AI technologies and their application in product development, with the ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts;

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect and influence multiple groups towards a shared vision;

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and driving alignment;

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and a proactive approach to problem-solving;

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions;

  • Deep customer empathy and a user-centric approach to product development;

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment;

  • Strong technical background with the ability to understand and discuss architectural concepts, trade-offs, and new opportunities with technical team members.
