Job Summary

• The Enterprise Advisory & Oversight Team is responsible for the development and implementation of the A&O strategy and integrating risk management best practices across the global team towards achieving best-in-class 2LOD oversight and challenge execution.
• The primary purpose for the Associate role is to support the Director in the build out of Processing & Execution risk and executing on the BAU activities of the Global Advisory & Oversight Team.
• This role works closely with the Director to support the implementation of the OR Standards and risk management practices across the A&O team.

This team is responsible for the development and implementation of the A&O strategy and integrating risk management best practices across the global team towards achieving best-in-class 2LOD oversight and challenge execution.

What will you do?

• Support the Director in the build out of Processing & Execution Center of Expertise and executing on the BAU activities of the Global Advisory & Oversight Team.

• Ensure alignment with Operational Risk standards, processes and tools for multiple operational risk management programs to support execution of A&O procedures and mandate

• Support strategy and roadmap for the Advisory & Oversight (Canada) team including execution of specific OR Standard requirements

• Execute on various aspects of A&O’s operating model to meet business as usual deliverables and risk management needs

• Provide expertise to support the execution of operational risk procedures

• Constantly seek out better ways to do things, new tools, new technologies, new processes

• Build relationships with relevant stakeholders across GRM Operational Risk, corporate functions and the various lines of business, to learn best practices and progress the team’s vision and approach towards improved data management, automation, dashboards, and insights.

• Work as part of an agile team responsible for end-to-end delivery of business needs

• Use business domain knowledge to independently lead the analytics process to identify valuable and innovative insights

• Constantly seek out better ways to do things, new tools, new technologies, new processes

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on business and/or risk management.

• Leadership acumen and a passion to apply it in a dynamic business environment

• Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written)

• Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment

• Strong MS Office skills – Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint

Nice-to-have

• Programming skills in one or more languages (ex. Python, R)

• Ability to perform complex data analysis on large volumes of data and present findings to stakeholders

• Ability to data extract, transform, and load processes with a variety of data types

• Ability to learn and absorb new concepts (in business and in systems) quickly and apply new knowledge

Please note: This posting is for a 4-months Fall 2025 Student placement with a start date of September 2025, and end date of December 2025. In order to be eligible for this 4-months Student position, you must either:

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of December 2025 ; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in December 2025), you must require the full 4-months work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
