Job Description

The Senior Technical Operator / Producer will support the operation and technical activities for all productions, live events, recordings, webcasts and other meetings to be held in the RBC’s Waterpark Auditorium and production studio.

This is a highly specialized role requires an exceptional understanding of Audio Visual and broadcast equipment.

What will you do?

  • Lead day to day operations for production, audio/visual/lighting equipment including:
    • Live, multi-camera technical direction &/or producing live or recorded shows.
    • Direct and coach talent in studio and on-location for best performance delivery.
    • Multi-camera switching on Newtek Tricaster.
    • Remote camera control maintaining Iris, focus and colour balance.
    • Import/Export video files in various formats and resolutions.
    • Webcasting/Videoconferencing set up and broadcast.
    • Edit, compress, export, transfer completed video files.
    • Routing AV signals via Crestron and Blackmagic video system.
    • Custom lighting set up for various event/webcasting scenarios on HOG controller.
    • Live multi-channel audio mixing.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Knowledge & capabilities in all aspects of audio/video production/technical direction and operation of broadcast technology including recording, live event and webcasting
  • An excellent understanding of all equipment to accurately assess, troubleshoot and resolve technical problems
  • Audio/Visual networking knowledge
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Able to effectively communicate with senior level executives.
  • Able to work well independently or part of a team.
  • Able to work flexible hours including afternoon and occasional weekend shifts.
  • Ability to learn new technical information quickly and work under tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PPT, Word, Excel)
