What is the opportunity?

Provides information on the detailed technical design and development of applications using existing and emerging technology platforms. Applies experience and seasoned knowledge, skills, and practices to perform a variety of assignments. This role is within the Governance and Controls team which is involved in development of Control modules which are involved in system integrity checks and alerting on systems within the AML team.

What will you do?

• Requirement gathering from business and Development teams to analyze and design and develop an automated monitoring system.

• Study all aspects of the current AML system and advise on areas which are not monitored for coverage and monitoring.

• Improve existing alert systems, monitoring framework for enhancements and alignments with standards accepted by Support and maintenance teams.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

• 5+ years of experience with Unix and DB (Hive+RDBMS)

• 5+ years of experience with Java including working experience of Hadoop apps

• Proficient with Unix/AIX and/or scripts

• Extensive development experience on database technologies (SQL), db2, Oracle, TerraData, SQL Server

• Willing to take a business focused, holistic approach to delivering operations

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

• A self-starter with the creativity to solve problems independently

• Ability to build effective relationships with a range of team members, stakeholders, partners, vendors and business users

• Displays a sense of ownership and exhibits flexibility, resilience, and resourcefulness

• Working knowledge of both real-time and batch transaction process monitoring and issue response

• Experience with the incident and problem management lifecycles

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent training and experience

Nice-to-have:

• Working experience with ServiceNow or comparable IT Service Management toolsets

• Software development experience.

• Kibana ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) experience an asset

• Working experience with Data Integration patterns, data reconciliation, analysis

• Working experience in big data and related concepts and technologies.

• Experience with monitoring and logging technologies such as Dynatrace, Moogsoft, Splunk, etc.
