What is the opportunity?

As a Lead Portfolio Data Engineer, you will support the development and maintenance of scalable data stores that supply big data in forms needed for business analysis. You will apply extensive, in-depth knowledge, skills, and practices to perform complex assignments.

What will you do?

• Design, build, and maintain extracts and design pipelines to ingest and transform data from investment and ALM systems (e.g. Bloomberg, custodians, etc)
• Structure data for optimal Tableau performance using Snowflake as the core data platform.
• Clean, enrich and normalize investment data such as holdings, inventory, benchmarks, dealers’ pricing, and risk metrics for analysis.
• Develop and maintain scalable data models and schema design in snowflake to support various analytics
• Implement data quality frameworks, validation and exception rules in snowflake pipelines.
• Leverage features in Snowflake for automation, recovery and auditing.
• Partner with Tableau Developers, machine learning developer, and other function partner to translate business requirements into reliable, well-structured data models.
• Automate and optimize query performance and data refresh cycles to meet the business requirement for dashboard and reports.
• Develop reusable pipelines for recurring process such as benchmark imports, yield curve updates, and daily position update.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, data science, information systems or related field.
• 3+ year of experience in data engineering with working with Snowflake.
• Strong SQL skills and advanced experience in Snowflake schema design, data modeling, and performance tuning
• Experience pulling data from Bloomberg AIM
• Experience integrating investment data into BI environments like Tableau.

Nice-to-have

• Programming proficiency in Python, R, or similar for model development and data analysis.
• Understanding investment data concepts, such as holdings, prices, risk metrics.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across investment, risk and other functional partners.
