What is the opportunity?

As part of the Technology Infrastructure team, the Director, TI Business Operations & Analytics will develop improvements to the charge-out planning process for TI and support the build out of TI financial strategy while working across Finance, BAS leaders and service leaders to ensure alignment on new processes, cost analysis and impact on RBC LoB segments.

What will you do?

Business Operations:

  • Lead the charge-out planning process with Service Owners and Business Offices to ensure accurate charge-out to LoBs.

  • Partner with Finance and BAS leaders to ensure that NIE drivers / charge-out views are aligned to support messaging to RBC’s LoBs.

  • Provide guidance / advice to business office teams to elevate performance management function across TI.

  • Mentor and coach team members within the Business Operations Team to elevate analysis, and financial advisory provided to Business Operations team stakeholders.

Expense Management:

  • Create and maintain complex financial models for new initiatives to track benefits across TI.

  • Work with Senior leaders across TI to identify cost optimization opportunities to better align funding to strategic priorities.

  • Build and maintain a cost management framework for a repeatable and scalable process.

  • Work directly with the T&O Operating office as well as TI Strategy team to report up cost savings.

Analytics:

  • Create analytics and deep dive into cost drivers within TI to support analysis on cost trends within TI and build out quarterly financial package to be shared with senior leaders across Finance and T&O.

  • Identify / Report on key financial metrics to present overall TI’s financial story including efficiency metrics, TI cost and workforce composition.

  • Analyze complex cost models (Apptio) to better explain service components to BAS leads and Service Owners.

  • Create scenario impact analysis for key financial changes within TI’s Charge-out Model.

  • Act as lead on all related ad-hoc financial requests to better understand TI NIE Drivers.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • In-depth knowledge and experience creating financial models for various cost drivers (People, assets etc.)

  • 8 – 10 years of experience in Bank Finance.

  • In-depth knowledge of financial processes and systems.

  • Experience building complex financial models to track cost savings / avoidance.

  • Experience mobilizing financial projects for continuous improvement.

  • Experience working with a segment / LoB to understand needs of the customer to increase financial transparency.

Nice-to-have:

  • CPA Designation
