What is the opportunity?
As the Director, Head of Credit Portfolio Management and Transactions, you will Lead the credit transaction management team to monitor and manage the Wealth Management Asia loan book and execute loan documentation. This role is a key role in the regional Credit and Cash Management team, reporting directly to the Head of Credit, WM Asia. The candidate will work closely with credit solutions to ensure the credit offering aligns to enterprise strategic priorities, operates efficiently and within risk appetite, while remaining competitive with market peers.
What will you do?
- Primary responsibility to have oversight on credit transaction monitoring and processes including but not limited to:
- Control & Monitoring: Shortfall management and portfolio monitoring. Ensure smooth and diligent management of shortfalls and closeouts. Aside from general portfolio monitoring, execute on special monitoring conditions as required by credit specialists and/or risk.
- Documentation: Ensure appropriate documenting of all credit risks per guidelines and credit approvals. Obtain necessary legal advice as and when required.
- Mortgage and Insurance asset handling: liaise with various external partners including brokers, valuers, lawyers to implement mortgage and insurance credit facilities.
- Audit and Regulatory: Be updated on regulatory changes that affect credit in Singapore and Hong Kong. Liaise with internal and external audit for reviews and be available to be the primary contact for Singapore credit related inquiries from internal and external audit as needed.
- Transformation: Work on business transformation initiatives across WM Asia where applicable.
- Reporting and Presentations: Assist in developing reports and presentations for Head of Credit and other partners where required.
- Improve existing processes where necessary and execute with a strong focus on streamlining control & monitoring processes and making value-added contributions to the business to grow and manage the loan book,
- Play a key leadership role in WM Asia Credit and Cash Management team and provide guidance and back up to the Head of Credit as and when required. This may also include the preparation of updates for senior management or committee meetings and representing credit and/or CTM as needed.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Degree or equivalent is required
- The role would typically require 5 years of experience in credit structuring, credit product development, credit portfolio management and credit sales
- Superior product knowledge and sound understanding of wealth management business at RBC
- A good team player with strong interpersonal & presentation skills
- Strong risk assessment/credit skills
