What is the opportunity?
We have an exciting opportunity to join our London office as an Associate, Securities Finance on a permanent basis.
The Securities Finance business unit is responsible for optimizing securities lending revenue within the framework of our lending clients risk reward profiles. The trading desks are responsible for market execution with borrowers, maximizing profitability within the existing products, developing new products and revenue opportunities, managing borrower and lender relationships, and assisting Product to retain existing clients and win new client mandates.
What will you do?
- Maximise net revenue and minimise costs for clients in the Securities Lending program.
- Execute the support functions of the front office; daily recalls, interaction with borrowers, monitor buy-ins liaising with the middle office on returns.
- Develop new revenue opportunities / products to increase profitability.
- Optimise use of client assets and revenue in line with client's lending parameters.
- Manage borrower and lender relationships globally, including participation in regular meetings and presentations.
- Responsible for all day-to-day procedures that support optimal distribution of on loan asset classes.
- Support efficient collateral management in accordance with client parameters.
- Interaction with Lender facing team: data/performance metrics and general market trends.
- Support efficient recall and recall management, liaising with Middle Office and Client Service representatives.
- Investigate and resolve any trade discrepancies including contract compare breaks.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Relevant experience within Securities Finance
- Relevant professional/regulatory qualifications (e.g. FCA, CSC, etc.)
- Good understanding of financial markets.
- Strong systems abilities Excel, Access, Bloomberg, etc.
- Financial industry experience, including equity, fixed income trading or collateral management
- Excellent relationship management skills
- Very technical/analytical and strong numerical skills including challenging/improving existing processes
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong, driven team player with the ability to coordinate with the global business
- Ability to analyse and interpret economic and market data, with capability to assess business impact
- Willingness to accept and carry out ad hoc administrative duties when required
