Job Description
The Canadian Mortgage Investment Group (CMIG) manages a portfolio of Prime Canadian residential mortgages that are acquired from 3rd party mortgage lenders operating in the mortgage broker channel or as a Direct-to-Consumer model. We purchase both single-family and multi-family loans, the bulk of which are insured against borrower default and funded via National Housing Act (NHA) Programs (NHA MBS and CMB). The group also runs a CMB swap business where we facilitate small lender participation in the CMB Program by providing the Program’s required cash flow swaps and manage mortgage and NHA MBS prepayment risk.
Required Skills & Characteristics:
- Knowledge of financial markets
- Extreme attention to detail
- Strong oral and written skills
- Multi-tasker that works well in a high-pressure and unstructured environment
- Relationship builder across various groups and individuals
- Fast learner with an ability to anticipate next steps and tasks
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
- Programming experience an asset (Visual Basic, Python etc.)
Primary Responsibilities:
General tasks
- Daily tasks such as preparing P&L
- Market Risk reports
- Daily commitment reports.
- Provide assistance and support to new and existing trades and clients
- Special projects as required
