What is the opportunity?
The Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) is responsible for technical business analysis activities on large Regulatory programs which is being governed by a central Technology team and delivered under a federated model in partnership with teams across T&O. The role demonstrates advanced knowledge and ability in business systems analysis where you will be responsible for facilitating the flow of requirements from RBC’s Regulatory Strategic Delivery team through to Technology teams for delivery. As a Senior BSA within the Technology Core Program Team, you will be the subject matter expert on technology requirements, acting as the central point of contact for T&O teams and partnering with Regulatory, Business and T&O teams to drive requirements review, refinement, design and traceability.
What will you do?
Define the business analysis approach, plans and accurate estimates for requirements, including tasks & deliverables, and continuously refine them for accuracy
Lead requirements prioritization and leverage techniques to drive out business priorities
Facilitate collaborative sessions with large and diverse business stakeholder groups to drive requirements discovery, analysis, and review
Analyze and document detailed business and system solution requirements in either iWF or Agile methodology using techniques such as user stories, story maps, system to system mapping, user context diagrams, using agile or iWF tools and processes
Apply advanced coverage analysis techniques to ensure relationship between scope, detailed requirements, and testing through to implementation
Communicate the impact of changes through cost-benefit analysis taking into consideration time, effort, and business priorities
Support Design, Development and Testing activities by providing requirements clarifications and root-cause analysis
Support Business and IT program management team as required by ensuring business priorities are understood and IT teams are equipped with detailed information in order to develop and test solutions effectively and as per expectations
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
5+ years working as a Business Systems Analyst with progressively increasing responsibilities in the areas of requirements management on large and complex projects / programs
Relevant college, university, or post-graduate degree in Business Analysis
Proven experience with various project delivery methodologies such as Waterfall, Iterative and/or Agile
Experience in data mapping between systems for integrations
Experience in requirements planning and prioritization including stakeholder analysis and effort estimation
Requirements elicitation techniques such as document analysis, Interviews, Facilitated workshops, Observation, Prototyping, Focus groups, Surveys
Requirements management and communication – requirements walkthroughs; scope and change management; traceability; configuration management, backlog management & prioritization
Nice-to-have:
Regulatory Projects Experience from requirements to implementation
Experience with Core Banking systems related to deposits, Cards, Line of Credit and Business Financial Services
Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Project Management Institute –Professional in Business Analysis Certification (PMI – PBA) or related education
