Client Intelligence Data Analyst
What is the opportunity?
The RBC Capital Markets Client Intelligence team plays an integral role in support of the firm’s key strategic client initiatives. The Client Intelligence team is part of the Business Resource Management division which supports all global businesses within Capital Markets including Global Markets Sales & Trading, Corporate Banking & Investment Banking.
The CI team is responsible for ensuring accurate client data & reporting across revenues, balance sheet, capital, CRM and competitor benchmarking data. This data is leveraged to deliver actionable insights that empower the business to make more informed decisions on its clients and supports its formulation of sales and client strategies.

What will you do?
- Use SQL, Python and Tableau to pull data from various sources to provide accurate and timely client data and analytics to stakeholders
- Use Tableau & Excel to develop and maintain reports, dashboards and other data visualizations
- Responsible for various daily, weekly, monthly reports to stakeholders
- Ensure data quality and integrity, run various control reports and processes to address data errors
- Develop and maintain client feedback database and other client databases
- Responsible for facilitating the timely upload of manual client revenues to database
- Collaborate with IT and Operations to address technical and operational issues impacting data quality
- Investigate and address client hierarchy inconsistencies
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and data clean up as needed
- Provide client briefs to senior leadership and stakeholders as required
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
- Passion for data and analytics; at least 2 years of work experience in operations, data management and/or reporting
- Positive attitude and collaborative work approach
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment; be agile and flexible to support business needs
- Strong written & verbal communication skills
- Ambition & drive; doesn’t settle for status quo and looks for ways to improve and thinks outside the box
- Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to query, organize and structure large amounts of data
- Proficiency in BI tools, preferably Tableau
- Strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, charts & graphs)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
Nice to have:
- Capital Markets experience, knowledge of Global Markets products (Fixed Income, FX, Commodities, Futures and Equities) or Corporate & Investment Banking businesses
- Experience with client provided ranking and feedback such as scorecards and broker votes
- Ability to effectively communicate to senior management in a concise manner
- Strong PowerPoint skills; ability to synthesize large amounts of information to key takeaways and themes
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (e.g. Git)
- Proficiency with SQL (optimizing large complicated SQL statements) and its variation among popular databases
- Experienced with Python frameworks and libraries (e.g. Pandas)
- Experience working with Alteryx (data cleansing, data aggregation)
Working Hours: 8AM – 5PM EST or 8PM – 5AM Kuala Lumpur Time (+/- 1-2hrs)
