What is the opportunity?

Cards & Loyalty is seeking a Strategy expert within our Strategy, Transformation, and Business Management team. Reporting to the Director, Strategy and Transformation, you will be responsible for collaborating with teams across Cards and Loyalty to conceptualize and deliver strategies that further our business ambitions. You will be heavily involved in shaping the immediate and long-term future of Cards and Avion Rewards anchored to a client-first approach.

The Cards and Loyalty Strategy team serves as thought partners to senior executives, offering targeted support for the highest priority and most complex strategic problems, and helps to develop and articulate RBC's Cards and Loyalty Strategy. The team also acts as a catalyst for transformation, cross-platform collaboration, and new capability development, and drives the Cards and Loyalty strategic agenda at the Group Executive level.

The Cards and Loyalty Strategy team offers a dynamic, fast-paced, and exciting environment with unique exposure across both Cards and Loyalty LOBs. Working within a high-performance area, the team provides opportunities for skill development, career advancement, and the chance to work on ambitious initiatives that deliver LOB and Enterprise value.

What will you do?

  • Perform comprehensive strategic reviews and analyses leveraging frameworks, approaches, tools and methodologies and develop robust recommendations to support Cards and Loyalty Senior Management Team

  • Ensure growth strategies are well developed, articulated and aligned across businesses and with enterprise perspective/priorities, and proactively identify benefits such as revenue streams or cost savings opportunities

  • Produce materials for EVP-level & Group Executives for review, discussion, and decision

  • Gain the position of trusted advisor and help facilitate trade-off / prioritization decisions with senior leaders, portfolio, product and partnership teams by providing rigorous strategic insight based on thorough research and analysis

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:

  • 3+ years of experience in Corporate Strategy, Consulting, Capital Markets or product management/strategy experience within a Financial Services, FinTech or technology company

  • Demonstrated ability in project design, management and implementation

  • Interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong relationships at every level of the organization

  • Strong written and oral presentation skills and presence; strong technical ability with PowerPoint, Excel and Word

  • Comfortable working in ambiguous situations and cross-functionally

  • High level of initiative and motivation

  • Conceptual thinker with ability to grasp broader issues quickly

  • Undergraduate Degree

Nice to have:

  • Deep knowledge of Loyalty & Cards

  • MBA or Graduate Degree

  • Financial Services experience
