The Liquidity Risk Measurement team is part of RBC’s Treasury function, responsible for analyzing and reporting the liquidity position of the bank. The team supports the development, enhancement, and maintenance of liquidity metrics, helping the organization meet regulatory requirements and understand its liquidity profile.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated student to gain valuable experience working in a specialized area of financial risk within one of Canada’s top financial institutions.

Job Description

What will you do?

As a member of the Liquidity Risk Measurement team, you will contribute to the ongoing production and analysis of liquidity metrics. Specific responsibilities will vary, but may include:

  • Work on various liquidity-related reports on a daily, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Support short-term and long-term liquidity trend analysis, forecast and projection updates.
  • Help coordinate with internal teams to collect, verify, and interpret data for liquidity reports.
  • Assist with quality checks, documentation, and improvements to reporting processes.
  • Contribute to special projects and ad-hoc analysis.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Working towards a Bachelor or Masters degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or other related field
  • Strong personal skills and the ability to work effectively independently and within a team environment
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with good attention to detail and very high level of accuracy

Nice-to-have

  • Strong analytical skills with an understanding of financial concepts (balance sheet, liquidity, etc.)
  • Experience with Tableau, SQL, or VBA

In order to be eligible for these student positions, you must either:

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating immediately after the work term), you must require the full work term as a mandatory component in order to graduate successfully
