Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC’s Technology and Operations division. Our clients represent Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration.

The Senior Manager, Strategy and Engagement role is an opportunity for you to combine your strategic planning, communication and employee engagement skills to help our people thrive as we execute on corporate and divisional strategic deliverables that drive client value.

You will work with partners and leadership team members from across GFT to develop and comprehensive employee engagement strategy, digital channel strategy, assist with the development and report back on GFT goals, collect and promote our Success Stories and lead our Employee Engagement and Celebration of Impact committee with the Chief Operating Office. You will also develop a GFT networking and mentorship program and roll out early in 2025. You will prepare and deliver presentations to colleagues and senior leadership within GFT as well as to a broad selection of RBC partners.

Please note: This role is required to work onsite a minimum of three days per week in accordance with RBC’s policy.

What will you do?

  • Support timely and effective employee communications using multiple platforms

  • Support the amplification of GFT’s strategy, priorities and achievements through a variety of events and communication opportunities.

  • Develop relationships with senior leadership and colleagues across GFT that enable commitment and buy-in to all initiatives around communications, talent strategy and development, including People Managers and Employee Engagement Survey action plans.

  • Deliver communications and employee engagement strategies leveraging insights for annual surveys and pulse checks

  • Develop and operationalize communications strategies leveraging best practices including effective stakeholder management and consistent communications across all channels

  • Identify, manage and lead talent development and communications metrics to measure effectiveness of strategies and tactics through a variety of feedback mechanisms including survey distribution, analysis and incorporation of lessons learned and improvements.

  • Provide communications coaching and consultation to develop capabilities within teams to manage issues, collect lessons learned, contribute and showcase projects and programs to ensure consistent and effective communications to targeted employee audiences and stakeholders, as appropriate

What do you need to succeed

Must-have

  • Undergraduate degree with 6+ years of experience in communications

  • Proven experience in creating and leading strategic, executive and global online presentations, meetings and workshops

  • Experience with engaging and influencing senior leadership and multiple stakeholder groups with proactive relationship building

  • Effective ability to manage multiple responsibilities, sometimes within tight timelines and to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced matrix environment

Nice-to-have

  • Knowledge and/or experience of technology space

  • Understanding of effective delivery toolkits such as Agile and Design Thinking
