WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

As a Quality Engineering Lead in Risk IT, you will be responsible to lead all aspects of testing within the product group with the focus in automation to enable greater test coverage and faster delivery. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about continuous improvement and who will guide and mentor the QE team to deliver quality product.

The QE Lead will engage with the Product/Project Team to identify testing requirements, define testing timelines, plan/execute QE activities and report/track defects. This individual will report to Senior QE Manager and this role requires hands on involvement in QE activities in addition to planning, reporting, managing, and coordinating tasks. The QE Lead will help to resolve all issues/ queries that will allow the QE team (onshore and offshore) to deliver their tasks in a timely manner.

It is a fast-paced environment with most projects following an agile methodology. Expectations are high for quality delivery and QE forms an essential component of the delivery process. QE team are equal stakeholders in getting initiative delivered on time with quality

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Lead the QE team members (onshore and offshore) and stakeholders through test planning, test conditions/scripts, test execution, test validation sign off and any post implementation activity during warranty.

  • Main point of contact for the project/product team for all things related to testing.

  • Lead by example by being hands-on in all aspects of mainframe testing (plan, script, execute, analyze and report)

  • Work with team members (PM/Scrum Masters, Dev, and Business Analysts) to understand objectives and map out testing and automation requirements.

  • Support all test activities, enhance, develop, and execute automated/manual test scripts, record and track software discrepancies and issues.

  • Work closely with product/project team on planning and prioritizing testing activities including building, executing new test cases, and automating existing manual test cases to ensure all aspects of the system have proper automation test coverage.

  • Perform different levels of testing based on business requirements – Functional, Regression, Integration, and Interface testing.

  • Create QE deliverables including but not limit to test plan, test cases and automation support documents.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

  • A relevant degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a comparable field of study.

  • 10+ years of QE Testing experience with minimum 2 years as a lead

  • Hands-on experience in developing automation frameworks using scripting languages such as Python, Robot Framework, Selenium etc.

  • Hands-on experience in big data testing using Hadoop/Hive and the ability to write complex SQL queries.

  • Expert level knowledge of STLC and Defect Management processes for application support and development.

  • Expert level knowledge in QE Processes, Methodologies and Test Design techniques with hands on experience in qTest, Jira, Jenkins, and Confluence

  • Strong problem solving, design, and analytical skills and out of the box thinking coming up with creative solutions on testing approach in critical timelines.

  • Good knowledge of industry practices with focus on Agile, DevOps, environments, and test integration.

  • Hands-on experience in developing testing strategies, executing manual/automated test cases and reporting to senior management for complex multi-application system integrations.

  • Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills. Ability to determine the information and communication needs of the stakeholders and project.

Nice-to-have:

  • ISTQB certification

  • Experience in cloud.
