WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Global Payments team is undertaking multiple complex initiatives (e.g. SWIFT ISO20022/CBPR+ adoption) as part of RBC Capital Markets ongoing plan to improve and modernize payments technology and processes across the organization. We are seeking a talented and adaptable Business Analyst to maintain an existing portfolio of applications and deliver new business capabilities to our corporate lending business in Capital Markets.
The Global Payment Business Analyst will be responsible for the Payments applications, from collection and documentation of Swift standards & Fiserv release requirements, evaluation of business processes, conduct data analysis, capturing workflows, development, perform testing to ensure successful Swift & Fiserv implementations, deploying to production and providing knowledge transfer to support teams. The Business Analyst will also engage with various partners across the organization for both payment & non-payment related internal and external technology upgrades.
The Business Analyst will accomplish this by teamwork, having a can-do mindset with a hands-on approach and focus on details. The individual will be working in a fast-paced environment, juggling competing priorities, and will be communicating directly with business stakeholders to understand the use cases and ensuring your solution is fit for purpose. The individual is not afraid of challenging the team on technical details and be able to think functionally.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

• Ability to interface with stakeholders and understand requirements to manage the Swift and Fiserv payments requirements definition process from elicitation through delivery (via BRDs and/or user stories, etc.) and implementation (defining and evaluating acceptance criteria).
• Ability to evaluate, test, and recommend enhancements and changes, identify risks and propose mitigation plan while having the ability to drive the solution design process; develop and execute test cases where applicable; own defects analysis and validation of defects remediation.
• Experience with elicitation techniques (e.g. document analysis, interviews, facilitated workshops, observation, prototyping, focus groups, surveys. • Experience with various project delivery methodologies (e.g. Waterfall, Iterative and/or Agile) or on a large scale project.
• Ability to speak with Developers about features, issues and potential solutions with a high degree of technical sophistication.
• Ability to speak with the vendor Research & Development teams in addition to project teams with a high degree of business and product knowledge. Able to analyse large data sets, identify underlying data patterns, document findings and problem solve.
• Effectively communicate - verbal and written.
• Ability to lead projects and\or junior analysts as per project requirements.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

• 7+ years of payments Business and /or Technical Analyst experience in Capital Markets and financial industry with specific expertise in Swift and Fiserv payment platforms.
• Experience in SWIFT ISO/CBPR+ adoption, Swift MT-MX message creation, transformation, and enrichment
• Experience with payment hub & routing systems: Fiserv EPP, GTX, Prowide, BESS, etc.
• Experience in drafting requirement documents, BRD/ FRD, FSD, etc.
• Experience in running UATs with business groups and ability to triage and articulate defects.
• Experience integrating JIRA and Confluence.
• Experience in both Waterfall & Agile project environment.
• Expert knowledge of Excel and Visio (or other diagramming tool).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate to all project members and stakeholders.

Nice-to-have:

• Basic Understanding of Programming language concepts: OO programming technologies, MQ.
• Experience working in DevOps pipelines (GitHub, Jenkins, Nexus, etc).
