What is the opportunity?
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Structured Rates Trading desk here in London to grow the vanilla options business with primary focus on GBP and EUR interest rate volatility products. This is a client facing role in an expanding franchise. The successful candidate will be expected to drive revenue growth, increase client connectivity and direct the progressive development of the trading platform.
What will you do?
- Active Market Making of interest rate options products to bank clients
- Manage market risk exposure of the portfolio
- Interact with clients and colleagues to provide market insights and trading strategies, seeking to grow client footprint and liquidity provision
- Proactively position the portfolio to accommodate anticipated client flows within the desk's risk appetite
- Guide the London Vanilla Options team to help realise desk goals and responsibilities, and support career development
- Facilitate structured notes issuance
- Coordinate with the SRT, IT and Quant teams to improve tooling and operational infrastructure
- Ensure accurate booking of transactions and reconciliation of risk and P&L
What do you need to succeed?
- Extensive mid/senior level experience in an IR Options Trading role essential
- Able to demonstrate confident market making abilities providing liquidity to clients
- Ability to effectively interact with external clients and internal Sales
- Deep understanding of the market and products
- Knowledge of the relevant market participants, and sources of volatility product demand and supply
- Highly collaborative with a drive to grow the business
- Strong communication skills
- Analytical thinker with excellent risk management acumen
- Keen to employ technology to enhance productivity
