How does the role impact the organization?
Raymond James Ltd. is seeking a Branch Assistant to work in our Calgary IAS office.

The primary role of Branch Assistant is to provide operational and administrative support to the office. The individual will assist in the implementation of branch directives and ensure that a high level of service quality is evident in all aspects of day-to-day operations.
What is the position responsible for?
- Be a key point of contact for support staff and advisors regarding operations or administrative tasks within the branch;
- Foster relationships with branch staff by responding to requests, and proactively problem-solving;
- Act as the BA’s primary delegate on operations and administrative tasks;
- Maintain a working knowledge of the industry rules and regulations as well as RJL policies and procedures, to ensure adherence with internal and external audit requirements;
- Liaise and forge relationships with internal departments and external vendors/suppliers on behalf of the branch;
- Support the BA and BM in achieving business objectives including expense management, business planning, staff satisfaction, and recruitment.
- Coordinate branch marketing initiatives including client appreciation events, mailings, website development/maintenance, and social media;
- Coordinate branch activities such as team building events, charitable activities, workshops, and lunch & learns;
- Provide backup coverage for cage and reception duties;
- Be involved in preparing, reviewing, and distributing branch reports;
- Liase with the building on facilities and maintenance requests;
- Assist with registration renewals, continuing education and training requirements
- Assist with new issues and syndication allocations
Qualifications
To qualify for this opportunity you possess:
- Knowledge of Fundamental investment concepts, practices, and procedures used in the securities industry.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite;
- “Front stage” presence, comfortable with presenting and speaking to a group,
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Exceptional problem solving skills and resourcefulness
- A positive and professional attitude that reflects well on the branch;
- A desire to learn and attain CIRO registration
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment;
- Excellent work commitment and willingness to accept additional responsibilities as you learn and grow;
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, work within time constraints and follow-up; and
- Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion.
- As we are a western location, a willingness to work during early market hours.
