Application Support Associate

How does the role impact the organization?

Under the direction of the Manager, Business Application Management, the Application Support Associate is responsible for day-to-day second level support of third-party applications for all areas of the firm. The Application Support Associate will develop test strategies based on business and functional requirements and execute functional and system test plans as required for commercial software and provide support to the business for user acceptance testing.

What will your role be responsible for?

  • Answer application inquiries and complex how-to questions escalated from the IT support desk or business units;
  • Research issues involving application integration points, data integrity and connectivity failures;
  • Diagnose root causes and provide fixes, both for in-house and third-party applications);
  • Document processes, application systems and IT operational procedures in cooperation with third-party vendors, where applicable;
  • Support and assist the business during creation and execution or user acceptance testing; and
  • Participate in various other duties as required.

What do we expect from you?

  • Fundamental knowledge of investment concepts, practices, and procedures used in the securities industry;
  • Experience of Broadridge Dataphile is an asset;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with a willingness and ability to learn new applications;
  • Exceptional Customer service skills;
  • The ability to work within deadlines in a high-volume and demanding environment while maintaining a high level of service and an imperative attention to detail;
  • Demonstrate advanced face-to-face, email, videoconferencing, and telephone etiquette and relationship management skills;
  • Exercise tact and discretion in the handling of confidential information; and
  • Communicate proficiently in French is an asset.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements

  • Post-secondary education, or commensurate qualifications and/or experience;
  • 3 years of related financial services experience with a strong analytical background; and
  • Experience in system functional testing, defect management and resolution, and using testing tools is an asset.

Salary Range: BC (based on Education, Work Experience, etc) $70,000-75,000 in addition to competitive performance bonuses/incentives.
