The Presales Engineer is a quota-carrying, team-oriented, and experienced sales executive focused on directly driving the sale of Quest’s ISM portfolio, identifying opportunities, and leading sales engagements. Our Software Account Managers have an entrepreneurial team spirit, can influence change, and want to leverage the many global resources available at Quest. If you join our team, you will orchestrate the software sales engagement, win competitive opportunities, expand existing customers, collaborate with Quest groups, and guide our customers to invest in Quest’s ISM solutions.
Responsibilities
Pre-Sales Support
- Conduct technical product demonstrations and proof-of-concept engagements.
- Collaborate with strategic sales teams to tailor solutions to client needs.
- Respond to RFPs/RFIs with detailed technical content.
Client Engagement
- Partner with clients to identify business challenges and align solutions to address them.
- Act as a trusted advisor to enhance customer satisfaction and retention.
- Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities based on client needs and usage patterns.
Thought Leadership and Evangelism
- Represent Quest solutions at industry events, user groups, and trade shows.
- Publish whitepapers, blogs, and technical best practices guides.
- Deliver keynote presentations and participate in panels to establish credibility.
Solution Architecture
- Assist clients in designing optimal architectures for Quest solutions.
- Recommend best practices for implementation, integration, and scaling.
Team Collaboration
- Provide feedback to product management on customer requirements and market trends.
- Act as a bridge between sales, support, and product teams to streamline client solutions.
- Mentor junior Sales Engineers within the organization.
Market Analysis
- Stay updated on competitive solutions and articulate the advantages of Quest products.
- Understand and communicate emerging trends in Information and Systems Management.
Qualifications
Required Skills
Technical Expertise
- Deep understanding of data intelligence, data modeling, database management, and monitoring tools.
- Hands-on experience with Data Intelligence, Data Governance platforms.
Communication and Presentation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey complex technical ideas.
- Ability to adapt presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Problem-Solving
- Analytical skills to diagnose issues and propose creative solutions.
- Ability to translate client needs into actionable technical strategies.
Sales Acumen
- Understanding of sales processes and the ability to align technical efforts with business objectives.
- Skills in relationship building and influencing stakeholders.
Leadership and Initiative
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Confidence to take ownership of projects and guide clients effectively.
Certifications and Education (Optional but advantageous)
- Certifications in data intelligence, database technologies, or cloud solutions.
- Educational background in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
Regional Language Skills (eg French/Spanish, German/English)
