About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Development Manager to lead the design, development, and deployment of AI-based software solutions within Quest Software’s Center for Advanced AI Architecture in Cork, Ireland. This role involves managing cross-functional teams, driving innovation in artificial intelligence and machine learning, and delivering scalable, high-performance applications that solve real-world problems.

As an Engineering Manager you will lead a team of Software Engineers and Data Scientists to design, develop, and deploy cutting-edge AI solutions across industries. Drive innovation, ensure high-quality development practices, and align AI initiatives with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Software Engineers, Data Scientists and AI/ML specialists in developing AI-driven applications.

• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and stakeholders to define technical requirements and product roadmaps.

• Oversee the full software development lifecycle, from architecture and design to testing and deployment.

• Ensure best practices in coding, testing, and DevOps are followed across the team.

• Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, tools, and technologies.

• Stay current with emerging trends in AI, machine learning, and software engineering.

• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• 7+ years of software development experience, with 3+ years in a leadership or management role.

• Proven experience in building and deploying AI/ML applications.

• Strong understanding of AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and modern software architecture (microservices, containers).

• Knowledge of frontend and backend development best practices

• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with LLMs, NLP, computer vision, or recommendation systems.

• Familiarity with MLOps and model lifecycle management.

• Prior experience in a startup or fast-paced tech environment.

• Strong architectural and strategic thinking.

• Experience with cloud infrastructure and AI model deployment.

• Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure is preferred, AWS, GCP)
