Title: Director FinOps
Location: Toronto, ON
Duration: Full-time Permanent role
Experience & Leadership
- 10+ years in cloud/platform, finance/FP&A, technology operations, or FinOps-related roles, with 3+ years in a leadership role (Director/Head/Lead).
- Proven track record of delivering material, measurable cloud savings (multi-quarter) and improving cost-to-serve.
- Strong influencing skills—able to drive outcomes across Engineering/Finance without relying on direct authority.
Financial Acumen
- Strong command of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, business casing, and ROI.
- Able to define and defend savings measurement, including baseline methodology and benefits tracking.
Cloud & Technical Understanding (Azure)
- Solid understanding of Azure cost drivers and architecture patterns (compute, AKS/Kubernetes, storage, networking, observability).
- Ability to translate technical choices into financial impact and guide teams toward cost-efficient designs.
Communication & Operating Rigor
- Executive-level communication: concise narratives, decision memos, and KPI reporting.
- Comfortable operating with ambiguity; builds structure, cadence, and accountability.

- Experience with IaC/GitOps environments (Terraform/Argo CD) and cost controls integrated into delivery pipelines.
