Quarry Consulting Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager with an IT background for one of our clients.

Title: Project Manager

Term: 6 Months - with possibility of extension

Location: Ottawa

BACKGROUND

The Clientis a publicly funded English-language college and member of Polytechnics Canada located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The College serves the National Capital Region and the outlying areas of Eastern Ontario, Western Quebec, and Upstate New York.

The Client Information Technology Services (ITS)department provides supportservices for approximately 65,000which includes students, faculty, administrative staff,and distance learning.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK / DELIVERABLES

The Sr. Project Manager will assist the Client ITS department by leading and implementing multiple initiatives. The consultant will work closely with IT leadership and relevant stakeholders to ensure the effective planning, development, and implementation of these initiatives and to deliver all assigned initiatives on time, on scope and withing budget following the ITS PMO standards and best practices.

The Sr. PM will plan, monitorand manage internal projectsin collaboration with various teams involved. The Sr. PM mandate could include project planning, resourcing, staffing, vendor assessment, progressreporting, stakeholder management, communication in steeringand cost benefit analysis/tracking.

REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, computerscience, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field within Information Technology.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent projectexposure.
  • 8 to 10 years of experience in project or program management, including 5+ years on large projects.
  • Project, program and portfolio management, business transformation and process improvement experience on large, complex enterprise systems and products.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skillsworking with variousstakeholders
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and workingcollaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in projectmanagement methodology, with the abilityto identify and resolve issues, manage risk, develop detailed work plans and specifications, manage resource allocations, and facilitate productive team meetings.
  • Proven capacity to juggle multipleprojects simultaneously and collaborate effectively with a Product Manager.
  • Detail-oriented with an unwavering focus on the big pictureand delivering results.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with the power to inspireteamwork and motivate project teams.
  • Proven problem-solving skillswith the abilityto address complexissues through keen instincts and organizational
  • Ability to managebusiness stakeholders' expectations and understand business processes and requirements to ensure project scope, business and technical requirements are clear, and agreed on, by each stakeholder.
