About Para Transpo
Para Transpo is a shared-ride, advance booking public transit service designed to support individuals who are unable to use conventional transit option, such as buses and the O-Train, due to a disability. Funded by the City of Ottawa and administered by OC Transpo, Para Transpo provides accessible minibus and taxi services across Ottawa’s urban communities, as well as connections between urban and rural areas and to Gatineau. Lifemark Health Group processes all Para Transpo applications based on specific eligibility criteria.
About the Role
The Para Transpo Care Coordinator with Lifemark Health Group plays a key role in supporting access to this essential service by reviewing and processing applications based on established eligibility criteria. This position is responsible for ensuring a fair, accurate, and timely assessment process, while clearly communicating application decisions to clients.
Primary Responsibilities
The candidate will be able to:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records through high-volume data entry and validation in Microsoft Dynamics 365, ensuring all client interactions (phone, email, and in-person) are thoroughly documented
- Serve as a primary point of contact for application-related inquiries, providing timely, professional support to clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to obtain, review, and verify required medical documentation, ensuring completeness and alignment with eligibility criteria
- Monitor application workflows and Occupational Therapist (OT) assessment pipelines to ensure timely processing and adherence to established service level agreements (SLAs)
- Organize, manage, and securely maintain sensitive client and medical records in compliance with privacy, confidentiality, and regulatory standards
- Respond to complex inquiries with professionalism and empathy, utilizing strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills to support positive client outcomes
Qualifications & Core Competencies
The ideal candidate will have:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in Medical Office Administration or related field is an asset
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills
- Proficient in computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite; previous experience with EMR/Case Management systems considered an asset
- Flexible, adaptable, and responsive to changing priorities
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Bilingualism (French/English) is required.
