This role requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. As a colleague, you will experience a role with the following support:

Your Day-to-Day
- Provide counselling services to clients referred privately, by employers, by various insurance companies, and other third-party organizations such as PCVRS, MVA, LTD and WCB to address psychosocial problems related to injury, trauma, and mental illness.
- Adopt a goal-focused, therapeutic approach for alleviating distress and improving social and occupational functioning.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences to discuss clients’ treatment plan and goals, the progress made to date, and any barriers to treatment.
- Delivery quality reporting and effective communication with all stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Document patient progress and treatment outcomes utilizing e-charting software.
- Stay updated on the latest evidence-based practices and seek professional development.

What You Bring to the Team:
Required Qualifications
- Registered with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Social Workers as an MSW clinical specialist.
- Minimum Master’s Degree in a counselling-related field such as Counselling, Psychology, or Social Work.
Extra Points in your application:
- Experience in case conceptualization and treatment of a range of mental health symptoms with a variety of adult clients.
- Have clinical knowledge in the areas of grief/loss, depression, anxiety, trauma, and adjustment issues.
- Knowledge of psychological management of chronic pain and concussive syndrome an asset.
- Training and experience with cognitive behavioral therapy approaches, and Trauma Processing modalities (e.g., EMDR, Prolonged Exposure, CPT).
- Experience working as part of a multi/interdisciplinary team.
- Experience preparing assessment, progress and discharge reports.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, solid judgement, and integrity.
