Today is the day to boost your career! Pinchin is seeking a Project Technologist to join our Indoor Environmental Quality team in our Richmond, BC Office.

The Project Technologist will provide reliable, timely, and professional support to Project Managers assisting with the day-to-day coordination of project related activities. The Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) group provides consulting services for a variety of projects including fire and smoke damage, indoor air quality, infection control, LEED and WELL certifications, mould and water damage, and radon services. As a valued member of the team, you will do interesting, challenging work, solve real environmental problems, and make a meaningful impact. You will work closely with senior industry professionals to enhance your knowledge and help you fulfill your career aspirations.

As the ideal candidate, you are excited by the opportunity to learn the technical components of the services above, conduct site visits for the above services, and collaborate with a team of project technologists and project managers.

A Day in the life of a Project Technologist at Pinchin:

  • Complete assessments for mould, indoor air quality (IAQ), designated substances and other hazardous materials
    • Conduct interviews with clients regarding building history and site-specific client concerns
    • Perform inspections and evaluate building systems
  • Assess building damages related to floods, water losses, smoke and fire
    • Assist clients following flood and loss emergencies to get buildings dried, cleaned or remediated and operational
    • Collect a variety of air and bulk (mould, asbestos, lead, dust, bacteria, etc.) samples
  • Interpret laboratory results
  • Prepare detailed reports documenting findings and provide recommendations to address concerns
  • Inspect abatement and restoration contractors undertaking mould, asbestos and other hazardous materials remediation work to document that the work has been properly completed

What you bring to the Pinchin team:

  • Familiarity with building systems: structure, envelope, HVAC etc. an asset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, time management skills and attention to detail required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs, prioritize client deliverables and meet required deadlines, in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to read, comprehend, and proof written reports and correspondence
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle required
  • Ability to travel throughout British Columbia
  • Ability work outside of core business hours based on client needs (occasional evenings and weekends)
