Job Summary
The Promotions Manager is responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing promotional strategies across all channels and regions to drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and sales growth. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong project management skills and a deep understanding of consumer behaviour, retail dynamics, promotional effectiveness and a proven track record in managing large-scale promotional initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage national promotional calendars in alignment with sales objectives.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activity to inform promotional strategies.
- Coordinate with Store Ops to ensure consistent implementation and messaging.
- Track and report on promotion performance metrics (ROI, lift, engagement).
- Conduct post-promotion analysis and recommend improvements for future campaigns.
- Use data to optimize promotional mix and timing.
- Manage national promotions financials, ensuring cost-effective execution.
- Monitor investment and reconcile promotional expenses.
- Influence key stakeholders by delivering insights and recommendations that support strategic promotional decisions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Proprietary Brands, Merchandising, Pricing, Chico and Supply Chain to ensure cohesive promotional planning and execution.
- Manages prioritization of the promotional space in store and communicates it through the Pocket Guides, ensuring accuracy of the content within the guide and on time delivery
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in promotions or trade marketing— ideally in a high-growth or multi-channel environment.
- Experience managing national campaigns in retail.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in promotional analytics tools.
- Experience partnering with Merchandising/ Buying teams and bringing structure to decision-making in environments that are less process-driven.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to distill complex data into clear, actionable insights.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and change — with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
- Strong understanding of financial planning principles and processes, including forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
- Excellent communication skills, especially in influencing cross-functional stakeholders and presenting to leadership.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and business intelligence tools.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time role with limited travel to the Head Office and Mock Store at the Bolton DC.
