Job Description:

Reporting to the Director of Product Management, the eCommerce Product Manager is responsible for delivering enhancements for one or more omni-channel technology functions (i.e. “products”). The Product Manager will serve as the bridge between business and technology, helping to guide business priorities and directing execution with technology teams. They are also responsible for leading cross-technology projects and will balance their passion as the voice of the customer with their pragmatic responsibility to make sound business and technology decisions. As the face of technology, they will have a sound understanding of retail business, a solid record for delivering customer centric results, and a natural affinity to cultivating trusting relationships with partners.

The ideal candidate will partner with cross functional teams, including Marketing, Loyalty, Analytics, IT, Store and Customer Care Operations and will ensure these expected journeys are brought to life. Ultimately, the ideal candidate will make journeys more user friendly, and intuitive to attract and retain our retail customers in an omnichannel selling environment while delivering on an easy and straight-forward staff experience. They work to provide seamless experiences and information to provide a customer friendly shopping journey, always striving to innovate and better every pet parent experience to ensure it is a great one.

*This is a 15-Month contract with the possibility of becoming permanent.*

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a product roadmap for their assigned Product area
  • Maintain an Agile product backlog for their product area and guide the POD team on priorities
  • Work with and guide the business and IT teams on effective processes for collaboration with an Agile mindset
  • Lead cross-portfolio projects and cross-functional initiatives for the business
  • Liaise with cross functional team members (IT, Developers, Marketing & Analytics) to drive scope out projects and enhancements based on business decisions
  • Become familiar with all technology applications currently in use or planned as it relates to their product area (including Commercetools, Contentful, Oracle, Reflektion, ORCE, PIM, Google Analytics, SEO best practices, Accessibility testing tools, etc.)
  • Collaborate and build data-based business cases against major initiatives to continuously enhance user flow to increase conversion online/foot traffic in store.
  • Using methods such as AB testing, customer feedback and user research/data, create experiences and recommend and advise on improvements to product processes and technology.
  • Communicate ongoing changes and business results with stakeholders and business leaders
  • Effectively communicate and present design and prototypes to developers and key stakeholders
  • Present to key stakeholders (CMO, VP’s, Sr. Managers, Managers)
  • Manage external vendor relationships within the appropriate Product area
  • Working with the UI/UX Specialist, investigate and troubleshoot ways to solve UX problems (e.g., findability, usability & responsiveness)
  • Have a deep knowledge of the eCommerce space including competitive strategies, product development, customer research, usability best practices, and industry trends as it relates to product areas such as Loyalty, SEO, email communications, microsites, third-party integrations, web performance and optimization, analytics and accessibility.
  • Research industry best practices, keeping up with the latest trends.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of digital Product Management experience, preferably within eCommerce
  • Minimum 2 years experience working within an Agile development environment with experience using Jira
  • Post-secondary education in Business/Commerce/Marketing or related digital experience
  • Strong understanding of digital concepts (e.g. user interfaces, databases, data feeds)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Project management skills
