How will you contribute?
Under the direction of the Manager of Procurement, the Procurement Advisor is responsible for purchasing and acquiring various goods and services.
Goods and services purchased by the Senate include consulting and professional services, audits, printing, equipment, stationery, consumable goods, furniture and furnishings in support of Senate operations.

The general public to staff one (1) determinate (full-time) position of one (1) year in the Finance and Procurement Directorate.
This selection process may be used to staff determinate or indeterminate positions at the same level with similar requirements.

Prerequisites
- Successful completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration or in a field related to the position;
- At least two (2) years’ experience performing procurement activities;
- Courses towards procurement certification would be an asset;
- Experience in contracting for a variety of goods and services requirements such as preparing solicitations, documents and evaluating bids and awarding contracts;
- Experience with an integrated system for finance and material management;
- Experience in providing advice and assistance to clients on contracting procedures and related policies, and procurement practices and regulations;
- Experience in reviewing contracts to ensure that appropriate terms and conditions are met;
- Ability to plan, manage and prioritize workload, evaluate and analyze client requests and make timely recommendations;
- Ability to work under pressure;
- Analytical skills;
- Good working knowledge of business laws and practices, regulations, guidelines, policies and procedures;
- Knowledge of trends and industry best practices to procure the most appropriate and cost-effective products/services;
- Knowledge of the method and techniques of cost benefit analysis and risk analysis to identify alternate approaches to procurement and contracting and determine strategies that present added value, result in economies of scale or result in maximizing the effectiveness of the procurement dollars.
