Position: Principal Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) - Permanent Role

Role Overview: As a Principal Site Reliability Engineer, you play a pivotal role in our organization. You're not just an engineer; you're a key part of our team, responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of our digital infrastructure. Your expertise will guide us in maintaining a robust and efficient environment, primarily on AWS, and shaping our DevOps and platform engineering practices. Additionally, you will be the linchpin in liaising with various product groups, helping them adapt their products to be onboarded into our landing zone, and architecting solutions to be cloud-native, microservices-based, and serverless. You'll prepare design documents and architecture diagrams, ensuring compliance with Non-Functional Requirements (NFR) and creating High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents for the same. Exposure to agile practices is considered an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure as Code: Lead the development of infrastructure as code, utilizing tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates, or CDK. You'll architect and design software solutions on AWS.
  • Troubleshooting Expert: Dive deep into infrastructure issues and provide swift and effective solutions. Your strong DevOps background, including experience with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, and Jenkins, will be crucial in this aspect.
  • Technology Mastery: Take command of platforms like Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, or AKS, ensuring smooth operations and system stability. Your role includes redefining our DevOps and platform engineering practices and implementing improvements in our AWS infrastructure.
  • Deployment and Automation: Execute deployment strategies, whether they're canary, blue-green, or other methods, using CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins, or Atlantis. Additionally, you will automate and optimize tooling processes.
  • Security and Networking: Implement and maintain robust security measures, demonstrating a strong understanding of networking. Your skills will be vital in safeguarding our digital assets, including deploying tools like WAF.
  • Architectural Design: Collaborate with various product groups to assist in the onboarding of their products into our landing zone. You'll re-architect these products to be cloud-native, microservices-based, and serverless. Prepare design documents, architecture diagrams, High-Level Design (HLD), and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Principal Site Reliability Engineer or a similar role.
  • Expertise in AWS and Terraform, with knowledge of Azure, GCP, CloudWatch, and Kubernetes as a bonus.
  • Strong background in DevOps practices and tools, including Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, and Jenkins.
  • Experience with Data Centre build and migration.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a knack for troubleshooting complex technical issues.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure as code and automation.
  • Excellent understanding of security measures, networking, and architectural design.
  • Configuration management expertise.

Additional Information:

  • Exposure to agile practices is considered an added advantage.
  • Having experience in multi-cloud setups and managing deployments at a large scale is a plus.
  • Share any unique experiences or challenges you've encountered in your career that can benefit our team.
