Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to lead mechanical and utilities scope for semiconductor expansion, retrofit, and capacity upgrade projects. This role oversees the entire project lifecycle—from concept and design through construction, commissioning, and handover—ensuring mechanical systems meet stringent cleanroom, reliability, safety, and contamination control standards.
A strong background in HVAC, cleanroom systems, process utilities, industrial gases, cryogenic systems, and mechanical infrastructure is essential.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Leadership
· Lead mechanical engineering scope for expansion, upgrade, and tool-installation projects.
· Manage full lifecycle: Concept → Detailed Design → Procurement → Construction → Commissioning → Turnover.
· Control project cost, schedule, risks, and change management.
· Deliver projects without interruption to 24/7 operations.
2. Mechanical & Utility Systems Management
Provide technical leadership for mission-critical systems, including:
· Cleanroom HVAC (ISO control, pressure cascade, temp/humidity stability)
· CHW, CW, PCW, vacuum, exhaust & scrubber systems
· Compressed Dry Air (CDA)
· Industrial & specialty gas distribution
· Cryogenic systems (LN₂, CO₂)
Ensure systems meet reliability, contamination control, and redundancy (N+1 / 2N) requirements.
3. Design Governance & Technical Review
· Lead technical reviews, constructability studies, and BIM/3D model clash analysis.
· Review calculations, equipment sizing, routing, and engineering deliverables.
· Ensure compliance with SEMI standards, ASHRAE, ISO 14644, and local authorities.
4. Construction, Testing & Commissioning
· Oversee contractors during installation, FAT/SAT, IST, and system validation.
· Resolve site issues swiftly to maintain safety, quality, and schedule.
· Ensure accurate as-built documentation and smooth turnover to Facilities Operations.
5. Safety, Quality & Stakeholder Management
· Enforce EHS-first culture and Life Safety rules.
· Collaborate with Process Engineering, Manufacturing, Electrical, Tool Install, EHS, and global facilities teams.
· Mentor junior engineers and support best-practice sharing.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
· 10+ years total experience with minimum 5 years in semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or mission-critical MEP projects.
· Proven track record in expansion, cleanroom mechanical systems, and utility distribution.
· Strong technical expertise in HVAC, CDA, CHW/CW/PCW, industrial gases, cryogenic systems, exhaust, and contamination control.
· Hands-on experience with construction oversight, commissioning, system validation, and contractor management.
· Familiarity with standards: ASHRAE, SEMI, ISO cleanroom classifications, and local regulatory codes.
· Proficiency in AutoCAD/BIM and project management tools.
· Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
