Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Firmware Validation Engineer to join our team at NXP India Private Limited. In this role, you will be responsible for validating the functionality, performance, and reliability of embedded firmware for our cutting-edge semiconductor products. You will play a crucial part in ensuring the quality and robustness of our firmware before it reaches our customers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Designing and deploying audio validation frameworks/test-setups with use of specialized or improvised hardware.

  • Developing and maintaining automated and reusable test frameworks mainly using Python.

  • Develop, deploy and debug/analyze automated test scenarios for various audio related interfaces and use-case scenarios.

  • Troubleshoots code for firmware (IC embedded code) applications.

  • Work often involves analog and digital hardware and software operating systems.

  • Position requires knowledge and exposure to hardware equipment’s like (Audio Precision, Power analyzers)

  • Good to have knowledge on Audio hardware/protocol like I2S, PCM, Multi-Slot PCM, SPDIF, ADC/DAC, Digital Microphones etc.

Job Qualifications

*Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
* 1-1.5 years of experience in embedded firmware validation or testing (Batch of 2024 or 2025).
* Strong understanding of embedded systems architecture and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
* Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python) for test automation.
* Experience with C/C++ programming for embedded systems.
* Hands-on experience with hardware debugging tools such as JTAG/SWD debuggers, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
* Familiarity with communication protocols like I2C, SPI, UART, USB, Ethernet, etc.
* Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
* Ability to read and understand hardware schematics and datasheets.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
* Prior experience with NXP microcontrollers/microprocessors is a plus.
