PhD Student in High-Confidence System Level Modeling for Mixed Analog / RF / Digital HW and SW Systems (m/f/d)
NXP Semiconductors
Overview:
High-confidence system level modeling for mixed analog / RF / digital HW and SW systems is an active research topic within the Business Line Radar Frequency Processing, which is divided into three Product Lines: Car Infotainment, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and Personal Health. It is the RF Processing powerhouse of NXP with R&D centers and high-tech colleagues around the globe. The Business Line holds several market leadership positions including radar semiconductors, radio & audio infotainment as well as hearing aids. System knowledge, RF-CMOS integration and embedded software/algorithms are the core of its success. In the automotive context, the arising complexity in integrated automotive systems gives rise to needed enhancements of analog / RF / AMS system simulation with respect to IP different level properties. As NXP is the world's No. 1 supplier of automotive semiconductors, you will be part of developing highly relevant solutions to address future customer requirements.
Your tasks:
Enable multi-run analysis (e.g., MonteCarlo) of system level models with cross-coupled parameters
Support definition of system level models and an application specific model library, including SW controlled HW functions
Introduce top-down modeling approach using an appropriate test vehicle
Create prototype/demonstrator of analog / RF / AMS / digital HW / SW system modeling & simulation environment
Participate in the dissemination and exploitation of the results (scientific publications, conferences …)
Education and Requirements:
Master in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or related fields
Experience with or a good understanding of one or more simulation and statistical methods including non-linear systems
Must be familiar with C/C++ language and SystemC/SystemC-AMS modeling concepts
Must have an interest in integrated circuit design of analog / RF / AMS / digital HW / SW systems
Strong interest in mathematical and statistical analyses including non-linear systems
Interest in pre- and post-silicon technology and analyses
Fluent in spoken and written English
Excellent communication and presentation skills (internally and externally)
Please note that this is a contract in part-time (80%), limited to 3 years.
