Business Line Advanced Chip Engineering (BL ACE) is responsible for the development of automotive IC’s for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. The BL ACE is expanding innovation activities in the domain of mm-wave Radar and other sensor modalities and is looking for an system/IC architect to drive such innovation activities for next generation products.

Responsibilities

The system/IC architect will be part of a cross-disciplinary team driving forward next generations of sensing concepts for mm-wave automotive radars or other sensor modalities. The role entails architecting novel (mm-wave) sensing concepts, translating concepts to architecture specification across multiple technical domains, driving the design of prototypes in advanced silicon and packaging technologies, and bridging with product development. The role entails activities in an evolving landscape of customer requirements, working with external partners and staying abreast of global technological advances in the field through universities and research institutes.

Profile

  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or semiconductor Physics in RF/mm-Wave or analog/Mixed-signal field with 10+ years of experience in research and product development.
  • World class expertise in transceiver circuits and associated waveform modulation principles applied to mm-wave ranging or imaging sensing systems for automotive.
  • Expert in defining IC/system architecture optimizing channel, antenna, and IC, and linking to baseband signal processing in mm-wave ranging or lidar/imaging domains.
  • Solid understanding of the physical link between circuits and devices in advanced silicon processing nodes, and of the integration challenges of analog ICs in large SoC’s.
  • Fluent in industry standard CAD tools for IC design and experienced with system or IC measurements.
  • Experience dealing with external partners and/or customers.
  • Creative attitude, open to new ideas, drive for excellency and quality, able to break through boundaries across (non)-technical domains. Demonstrated innovation and leadership skills.
  • Engaged and enthusiastic team player able to operate in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team environment. Structured, self-motivated, diligent.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English).

Contract: This is a fixed term contract with 32-40 working hours per week.
