Your responsibilities

• Help to define and develop innovative demos, proof-of-concepts and system solutions using NXP automotive chips and software.
• Contribute to the development and integration of software tooling in the project to enable application simulation, architecture exploration, and performance analysis.
• Be ready to explore Software-Define Vehicle use cases and work on innovative system solutions to address new challenges in future vehicle architectures.

• The applications can be in various automotive domains such as (amongst others) in-vehicle networks, vehicle E/E architectures, ADAS, battery management systems, mobile robotics, etc.

• The job requires interaction with other NXP teams and potentially external partners.

Your profile

To be successful in this role you have:

• University (of applied sciences) degree: BSc, MSc or PDEng in a technical specialism, like Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Technologies, or equally relevant.
• Experience in software engineering on embedded platforms.
• Interest and willingness to work with embedded processors.
• Curiosity into how different building blocks play a role in a bigger system.
• Interest in hardware evaluation boards, building board support packages, kernels, and images.
• Good team player and communicator.

You might also have:

• Knowledge of Electronics design which helps to solve issues on the intermediate layer HW-SW.
• Familiarity with semiconductor/automotive field.

Furthermore, you are:

• Willing and ready to pick up new technical skills and dive into new systems and languages.
• Able to integrate individual system building blocks.
• Excellent in communication in English (verbal /written).
• Experienced in working in/with multi-cultural projects/teams.

Your team

The Automotive System Innovations team is part of the Chief Technology Office (CTO) department of NXP Semiconductors. We drive innovation on system level for the automotive businesses in applications like highly automated and safe driving, audio, radar systems, in-vehicle networking, artificial intelligence, battery management systems, as well as mobile robotics. We foresee that artificial intelligence through embedded neural networks will often provide a significant part of the ‘smartness’ in the products for these markets.

We innovate by combining technologies, IPs, and products from different NXP entities, and by participating in collaboration projects with customers, universities, and research institutes. Together with the Business Lines, we anticipate future technology trends and gather innovative system and application insights for the BL roadmaps by developing innovative automotive system prototypes, often in co-operation with external partners and customers. Where possible, we support new business development / new markets across BLs, leveraging NXP technologies and competences. We also created and maintain the NXP Showroom in Eindhoven, which showcases all the latest NXP innovations to visitors of our headquarters.
