For our Product Line In-Vehicle Networking in The Netherlands, we are looking for a senior Design for Test Engineer. You will be part of our product development team to deliver the best products to the market while ensuring our brand's reputation for leadership in total quality at optimal cost.

As senior DfT engineer your work together in a cross functional team, where you take care of an efficient on-chip test infrastructure that enables competitive cost prices in mass production and at the same time guarantees efficient screening techniques to prevent customer complaints from happening. By being part of a design team you will have close interaction with colleagues from several disciplines e.g. architects, analog- and digital designers, verification engineers, project managers, physical designers, etc.

Role Summary:

  • Advises the system/hardware architect on testability provisions in the IC/IP architecture to enable high test coverage and easy test access
  • Involved in the test verification and validation process of the product, to support this with test tools and to verify the anticipated fault models on relevance and completeness for usage in a DfT- and test verification context.
  • Core responsibilities include: definition of test strategy, definition of test architecture; definition of test structure; definition of testability requirements, definition of test cases, assessment of changes to testability and test coverage
  • Assists: prediction of Yield, Fall-off rate, Test time and Test cost; Supports test pattern verification, Test development and debug.
  • Participate in project team meetings. Report on key progress and issues upholding proper balance between required maturity and committed deadlines during every development phase.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement DFT strategies for complex IC designs.
  • Collaborate with design, verification, and physical design teams to integrate DFT methodologies.
  • Verify the functionality of these DFT structures using simulation and emulation tools.
  • Generate test vectors for manufacturing tests, including stuck-at, transition delay, and other fault models.
  • Ensure high test coverage to detect manufacturing defects effectively.
  • Develop and implement post-silicon debug and diagnosis strategies to identify and rectify design issues.
  • Develop and maintain scripts and automation flows to streamline DFT implementation and verification processes.
  • Stay updated with the latest DFT tools and methodologies to continuously improve the test process.
  • Document DFT strategies, methodologies, and results.
  • Report progress, issues, and results to stakeholders, including design and management teams.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate DFT requirements into the design flow.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to improve team capabilities.
  • Identify opportunities for improving test methodologies and processes.
  • Implement best practices and drive innovation in DFT techniques.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies related to DFT.

Job Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
  • Proficiency in DFT techniques, including scan insertion, BIST, JTAG/boundary scan, ATPG, and test compression.
  • Experience with EDA tools from vendors like Synopsys, Cadence, and Mentor Graphics.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, TCL, or Shell scripting.
  • Ability to generate and analyze test vectors ensuring high test coverage.
  • Skills in debugging and diagnosing silicon and test environment issues
  • 5-10 years of experience in DFT engineering or related roles.
  • Experience in planning, executing and managing DfT workpackages
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, teamwork, leadership, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication for documentation and presentations.
  • Capability to lead in teams and mentor junior engineers effectively.
  • Proven ability to work with design, verification, test and manufacturing teams.
