The E.W. Scripps Company is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to guide multi-disciplinary technology teams in achieving technical project objectives for complex and strategic programs. This role is critical to ensuring our technology initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and with the highest quality standards. You'll be the driving force behind project coordination, process improvement, and team collaboration.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Work to document LOE estimates, task assignments and dependencies and assemble them into coherent project plans.

  • Work with department leaders on development of team leads and other stakeholders to create project schedules.

  • Work with development teams to track progress against the plan, help identify and document problems impeding progress and work with team leads to find solutions.

  • Provide regular updates on progress.

  • Be an advocate for good/better process through constant evaluation, with an eye towards improvement.

  • Work with development team on maintaining and developing software development tool chain, working to ensure visibility, efficiency and transparency throughout the development process.

  • Coordinate and participate in the project post-mortem process.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree in a science or technology field preferred

  • 5 years of experience - ideally in both technology development and project management

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • An ability to synthesize large amounts of complex information

  • A highly collaborative working style with an ability to remain friendly and professional while persistently working to gather the information necessary to accurately assess status and holding team members accountable for deliverables. A good sense of humor helps!

  • Strong organizational skills, with an attention to detail
