We are seeking a Electrical Engineer student – the student will participate in the electrical design of optical pluggable modules and other telecom products. This role combines hands-on lab testing as well as electrical CAD. The ideal candidate will bring knowledge of circuit simulations, layout techniques and lab test equipment.
  • Currently a candidate for a Master’s, Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field with an accredited school in Canada.
  • Collaborate with a team of electrical engineers.
  • Define product structure and manage product BOMs.
  • Contribute to research and development of new technologies and design methodologies.
  • Support sustaining engineering efforts and root cause analysis of field issues.
  • Experience with optical transceiver (e.g., QSFP, OSFP) and ASIC packaging.
  • Knowledge of compliance and shock/vibration testing for telecom application.
  • Knowledge of advanced substrate technologies such as organic build up, LTCC, HTCC, and high-performance PCB laminates.

  • Support the electrical design of optical pluggable modules, balancing electrical, signal integrity, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Perform and electrical verification testing.
  • Review schematics and layout of optical products.
  • Assemble prototypes and support transition to production with minimal redesign.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by ensuring smooth handoff from design to production.
  • Interface with suppliers and contract manufacturers to resolve electrical and integration issues.
  • Author and review ECOs, BOMs, and technical documentation.
  • Define and validate labeling, packaging, and regulatory compliance requirements.
