As a Software Engineer in the Network Automation team at Nokia, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing Network Management and Automation solutions for carrier-grade IP networks, leveraging your expertise in Java, J2EE, XML, SNMP, EMS, and NMS to drive innovative solutions, tackle complex challenges, collaborate with talented professionals, and work on high-impact projects in a flexible environment that prioritizes both productivity and well-being.
The Applied R&D Engineer conducts target-oriented research to directly apply findings to the specification, design, further development, and incremental improvement of products, services, systems, tools, processes, etc. Integrates, verifies, tests, and modifies SW / HW / system components and capitalizes on innovative solutions to meet particular requirements and specifications.
You have:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or related field with 3 to 6 years of experience in software development.
- Hands-on experience in Core Java, J2EE, XML, Scripts, Oracle DB, SQL
- Good exposure to leverage AI tools and AI coding assistants to boost productivity
- Experience in developing EMS/NMS products that manage telecommunication networks.
- Familiarity with network management and related protocols (for example: gRPC/ GNMI: gRemote Procedure Calls Network Management Interface/ NetConf : Network Configuration Protocol / SNMP: Simple Network Management Protocol)
- Ability to take ownership and drive features independently while working in a highly agile environment.
- Work with cross-functional agile teams in designing and developing innovative solutions to solve complex problems.
- Collaborate closely with scrum master, design lead and architects to bring sustainable solutions.
- Engage in hands-on coding and system design, ensuring high-quality standards and best practices are maintained.
- Handle customer issues innovatively using your creativity assisted with AI tools
- Drive innovation by exploring new ideas, tools, and methodologies to enhance team performance and project outcomes.
- Contribute to challenging projects that push the boundaries of technology, working alongside some of the industry’s brightest engineers.
