As a member of our hardware engineering team, you will drive the development of next-generation networking hardware for data center, enterprise, and communications service provider customers. This role offers high-impact cross-functional collaboration with our Hardware, Mechanical, Thermal, Compliance, Software, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and Sustaining teams.

Additionally, you will partner closely with Product Line Managers to ensure every program meets its technical requirements, cost and schedule targets, and customer expectations. Our ideal candidate can flourish with minimal guidance, is able to navigate uncertainty and ambiguity, and will drive the team towards successful product release.

We are looking for a hardware-focused Technical Program Manager to join our IP Networks division. The successful candidate thrives at the intersection of complex engineering and large-scale operational execution, and has demonstrated a track record of delivering compelling, high-performance, cost-competitive products from concept through production.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline or relevant field with a minimum 8 years of hardware program/project management experience, or master’s degree with a minimum 6 years of hardware program/project management experience.
  • Solid understanding of hardware design process and best practices from concept through release, as well as product sustaining and life cycle management
  • Strong track record of delivering leading edge networking, compute, or communications hardware platforms
  • Project management experience for large multi-disciplinary engineering projects including budgets, schedules, resourcing, and material planning
  • Hardware design product life cycle experience with OEM, ODM and JDM development models
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio and SharePoint.
  • Experience authoring engineering and ISO process documentation is a plus
  • Experience managing networking hardware products or similarly complex assemblies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical details to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience leading teams, assessing and managing risk, and making data-driven decisions
  • Experience with conflict resolution in an engineering product development environment
  • Background in hardware design and/or engineering management is desirable for the role

  • Build and track NPI program schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Work directly with the hardware development team to release new hardware platforms on time and on budget
  • Act as the key interface between hardware engineering and other cross-functional team disciplines including product line management, software, quality assurance, diagnostics, regulatory and environmental compliance, technical documentation, supply chain, and manufacturing operations
  • Provide timely project status to senior management and cross functional team
  • Contribute to hardware engineering process definition, improvements, and documentation while holding team members accountable for task completion
  • Find solutions to schedule risks and communicate team priorities
