As IP Core MPBN back-office Engineer at Nokia, you will spearhead a dynamic team responsible for the operation and maintenance of IP MPBN Network. Your core mission is to ensure the stability, performance, and security of our Network operations while effectively supporting various business units. You'll play a crucial role in enhancing customer satisfaction and driving innovation, directly contributing to Nokia's overarching goal of delivering cutting-edge technologies that connect people and empower industries worldwide.
You have:
- 3+ years of experience
- Hands-on experience & knowledge in IP MPBN domain,
- Knowledge of Routing Protocols: OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, MP-BGP, IGP-BGP redistribution.
- Knowledge of MPLS: LDP, RSVP-TE, L3VPNs, L2VPNs, MPLS-TE, VPLS.
- Knowledge of IPv4/IPv6, Subnetting, Multicast (preferred).
- Traffic Engineering, QoS, CoS, Policing, Shaping.
- Network Security: ACLs, prefix-lists, uRPF, RTBH, SNMPv3, SSH, and syslog.
- Strong communication, organization, and situation handling skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain a persistent, dedicated, and "can-do" attitude despite setbacks
It would be nice if you also had certifications:
- Cisco: CCNP/CCIE (SP or R&S)
- Juniper: JNCIP/SP
- Huawei: HCIP or HCIE-IP
- Nokia: NRS II or SRA
Maintain IP CORE platforms to ensure high levels of service delivery.
- Handle L2/L3 escalations and troubleshoot service-impacting issues in the IP/MPLS core layers.
- Analyze routing issues (OSPF/BGP/MPLS/IS-IS), interface errors, convergence problems, and link congestion.
- Lead or participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents and chronic network issues.
- Perform routine health checks, configuration backups, link verifications, and capacity audits.
- Apply standard configuration hardening and ensure compliance with baselines.
- Upgrade router firmware/software with minimal service impact, following change management processes.
- Track KPIs: link utilization, routing table size, CPU load, buffer usage, interface errors, packet drops.
- Handle improvements for load balancing, QoS policies, route summarization, and fast reroute (FRR).
- Work with planning/engineering teams to support capacity expansions and re-routes.
- Coordinate with transport, RAN, Core, IMS, and IT teams for service dependencies.
- Support service activations (e.g., new IP bearer, peering, VPN.)
