Join Nokia Bell Labs, Bangalore, as a research intern in AI-driven wireless communications, collaborating with a global team at the intersection of two exciting technologies - radio systems and machine learning. You will work on prototyping AI-native 6G networks using software-defined radios, open-source cellular stacks, and GPU-accelerated edge AI platforms. The role offers hands-on experience in developing and deploying ML-based wireless components, conducting over-the-air experiments, and contributing to real-time 6G prototypes and open-source tools alongside Bell Labs researchers.

Join Nokia Bell Labs as a research intern in AI-driven wireless communications, collaborating with a global team at the intersection of two exciting technologies - radio systems and machine learning. You will work on prototyping AI-native 6G networks using software-defined radios, open-source cellular stacks, and GPU-accelerated edge AI platforms. The role offers hands-on experience in developing and deploying ML-based wireless components, conducting over-the-air experiments, and contributing to real-time 6G prototypes and open-source tools alongside Bell Labs researchers.

You must have :

  • Enrolment in a Master's/Ph. D program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related discipline.
  • Solid foundation in wireless communications, computer networks, and/or machine learning.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and C++.
  • Comfortable working with Linux, embedded devices, and complex open-source projects.

Nice if you also have:

  • Understanding of 4G/5G NR PHY/MAC procedures and signal structures.
  • Experience deploying ML models on embedded GPU platforms. Familiarity with RF calibration, synchronisation, and real-world OTA testing.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or peer-reviewed research in wireless or ML.


  • Develop and extend functionalities in a machine-learning-based next-generation wireless networks prototyping framework.
  • Optimize and deploy AI/ML models on GPU/accelerated edge devices.
  • Configure and operate SDR hardware for baseband processing and over-the-air experiments.
  • Design experiments investigating AI-native waveforms, channel estimation, end-to-end learning, and adaptive communication schemes.
  • Collaborate with Radio Systems researchers of the Bell Labs Core Research team in wireless communications, machine learning, and embedded systems
