As a Senior Photonic Test Technician, you will play a crucial role in our team's success. You will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and optimizing test equipment in our optics labs in New York City, and for ensuring the highest quality standards for our test data on optical components and systems. Nokia's Optical Networks team is seeking a Senior Photonic Test Technician for our department in New York City. This role is ideal for new STEM graduates with a passion for hands-on optics laboratory work and a desire to learn test equipment building and software development.
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field, preferably with a focus on optics or photonics.
  • Hands-on experience in an optics laboratory or related field is highly desirable.
  • Basic experience with computer programming, particularly in python, is highly desirable.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality assurance.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic research and development environment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills for effective teamwork.

  • Operate and maintain test equipment for optical component and system testing.
  • Contribute to test software to ensure accurate and efficient data collection.
  • Collaborate with engineers to understand testing requirements and develop tailored solutions.
  • Perform hands-on testing of optical devices and systems, analyzing and interpreting results.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to test equipment and software, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Document test procedures, results, and findings, maintaining accurate records.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and best-practices in the optics laboratory.
