As a senior technical contributor within Nokia’s Optical Engineering Team focused on the next generation transponder/muxponder product family that is poised to transform how signals are transmitted across the network, you will work closely with global cross-functional teams including HW, DSP, FW, and SW, to optimize performance of client and line side optics. You will support full integration of the line modules on various product platforms and assist product teams to drive product cost and performance.

As a senior technical contributor within Nokia’s Optical Engineering Team focused on the next generation transponder/muxponder product family, you will work closely with x-functional teams including HW, DSP, FW, and SW, to optimize performance of client and line side optics Responsibilities include writing test plans, executing design validation/testing, as well as reviewing test results to support full integration of the line modules on various product platforms and assisting product teams to drive product cost and performance.
  • 3 - 5 years of engineering experience with PhD in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related majors
  • More than 5 years of engineering experience with MS Degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related majors
  • Must have 3 or more years of recent experience in Coherent Optical Communication (Transceivers/Transponders)
  • Experience integrating various adjacent disciplines for product development, including calibration automation, test automation, electrical, FPGA, FW, SW
  • Deep technical competency in Coherent Optical Communication technology, Digital Signal Processing, and high-speed optical signal generation and detection
  • Strong Phyton programming skills
  • Familiarity with standard industry design validation processes and product life cycle
  • Familiarity with optical communication systems and linear and nonlinear impairments and tradeoff, such as crosstalk, OSNR, chromatic dispersion, PMD, SPM, XPM, FWM, etc.
  • Must be willing to work in the office 5 days a week
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Highly organized with strong attention to details
  • Excellent English communication skills
  • Excellent people skills, and being a team player

  • Be the subject matter expert of optical pluggable transceivers
  • Devise test plans to validate optical subsystem performance
  • Develop automated test platforms
  • Execute design validation/testing
  • Review and analyze test results to ensure product quality
  • Work with Design teams on product evolution
