In this role, you will lead the design, development, and execution of manual and automated test cases for telecom applications using scripting languages such as Python, Tcl, or Ksh/Bash. Collaborate closely with development, product management, and operations teams to understand requirements and translate them into test strategies.

Perform end-to-end system, integration, regression, performance, and functional testing. Analyze system requirements and design documents to ensure full test coverage.

Applied R&D Software Engineers research, architect, design, develop, and test software for our products, services, systems and tools. They define, create, integrate, verify and modify SW/system components and utilize innovative solutions to meet customer requirements and specifications. They apply principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.

You have:

  • Master’s degree in computer science, or Bachelor's degree with 10+ years’ experience in a related networking field.
  • Experience with test automation and scripting languages such as Python, Tcl, or Ksh/Bash
  • Experience with test strategy planning and execution.
  • Experience with 3GPP standards (UMTS, LTE, 5G)
  • Experience with packet core network elements, such as PGW, SGW, SMF, and E2E call flows for 4G and 5G
  • Knowledge of networking protocols such as IPv6/IPv4 and TCP and troubleshooting

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Experience with NFV (Network Function Virtualization) and related technologies such as Kubernetes, Openstack, VMware, KVM/QEMU
  • Experience with network monitoring tools, such as Wireshark, to analyze messages transmitted and received

  • Develop, modify and execute software test plans.
  • Support, lead, develop, partner, and implement automation strategies for large and small features on CNS CMG product.
  • Design, develop, script, execute, and maintain sophisticated tests to verify conformance of features and their functionality implemented by Engineering against requirements specifications laid out by Product Management
  • Be responsible for driving features to completion (ready for GA release) and will therefore be in close contact with software developers, test engineers, tools engineers, product managers, technical documentation writers, and support teams to deliver feature functionality in the MG product.
  • Play a role in system design so that Quality Assurance is considered throughout the entire lifecycle of the product.
  • Follow all Nokia Information Security policies and guidelines including ISMS (ISO27001 program).
