Nokia Canada Inc. as a Mechanical Proto Specialist in the NI IP HW Eng Engineering department. Support the development and prototyping of cutting-edge network routing equipment with your 3D printing expertise.
- Technologist/technician degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Experience in 3D printing technologies, including knowledge of various printing processes, materials, and design considerations.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and ability to create detailed drawings and specifications.
- Experience with CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD, for creating 3D models and assemblies.
- Familiarity with rapid prototyping techniques and an understanding of the design-for-manufacturing process.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize mechanical designs.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
- Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and industry trends.
- Support the design and development of mechanical prototypes for Next Generation Network Routing equipment.
- Utilize 3D printing technology to create functional prototypes and test fixtures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and systems engineers, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of mechanical designs, identifying and resolving any issues or improvements.
- Maintain and manage the 3D printing lab equipment (SLA, FDM, Plotters, CNC PCB Router,...) ensuring optimal performance and efficient utilization of resources.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures for 3D printing processes, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in 3D printing technology and materials, and explore their potential applications in networking equipment.

o CNC Routing for PCB blanks
o Mechanical assembly
