This is an exciting opportunity to join Bell Labs as a Summer Intern within the TAO BLSR ISE Autonomous Robotic Systems department, where you will contribute to cutting-edge research in artificial intelligence and robotics. You will work alongside experienced researchers and engineers on innovative projects that advance the capabilities of autonomous robotic systems, from intelligent perception to decision-making and control. In this highly collaborative and research-driven environment, your ideas and technical contributions will help shape next-generation autonomous solutions. This role offers hands-on exposure to state-of-the-art technologies, mentorship from industry-leading experts, and the chance to make a meaningful impact at the forefront of AI and robotics innovation.
- Strong foundation in AI and machine learning, with a passion for robotics.
- Familiarity with ROS (Robot Operating System) and its applications.
- Experience in data capture, processing, and analysis is preferred.
- Knowledge of physical AI and embodied AI concepts is an advantage.
- Excellent programming skills, particularly in Python and C++.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, enthusiasm for learning, and a desire to contribute to innovative research.
As part of our team, you will:
- Assist in developing and testing AI-powered robotic systems, focusing on physical/embodied AI.
- Collaborate with a diverse team of researchers and engineers to integrate AI models into robotic platforms.
- Utilize ROS 1 & 2 (Robot Operating System) for robotic system development and control.
- Capture and analyze data to improve the performance and decision-making capabilities of our robotic systems.
- Conduct experiments and simulations to evaluate the effectiveness of AI algorithms in robotic applications.
- Document and present your findings to the team, providing valuable insights and recommendations.
- Engage in knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance your understanding of AI and robotics principles.
- Work on individual or group projects, demonstrating your creativity and problem-solving skills.
