Currently a candidate pursuing a B.S - M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited college/university in the US. Must be enrolled as a full-time student for Fall 2025 and have an overall GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above.

About the Business Group
Join Mobile Networks (MN) and help us become the trusted partner of choice for Communications Service Providers (CSPs), as well as for non-CSP entities in sectors like utilities, transportation, public services, and defense. In the Radio Access Network (RAN) Business Unit, you’ll help shape Nokia’s wireless portfolio from 2G to 6G. You’ll contribute to product management and marketing while delivering advanced RAN solutions like Cloud RAN and ORAN worldwide.

As a Mechanical Design Intern, you will collaborate with engineers on new product design, prototype debugging, and field issue troubleshooting. This role offers hands-on experience in mechanical design, testing, and analysis within a dynamic engineering environment.
- Career interest and coursework in Wireless Communication Systems, mechanical design, or thermal design.
- Ability to use test equipment (oscilloscopes, voltage meters, power supplies) and basic hand tools.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and solid modeling tools (preferably Creo).
Nice to Have:
- Previous experience in mechanical design, validation testing, or thermal/material testing.
- Knowledge of 3D modeling and simulation tools (Ansys, Icepak, FloTHERM).
- Familiarity with Python scripting, Bill of Materials, and office applications.
- Assist in material selection, part drawings, and mechanical sample assembly.
- Develop and execute automated laboratory tests to validate mechanical and system-level designs.
- Perform finite element and thermal analysis to support design decisions.
- Troubleshoot design issues and contribute to brainstorming solutions with the engineering team.
